SUMEDANG enthusiastically welcomes the development of the Rebana Area. The new industrial area will further improve the welfare of the community.

“The development of the Rebana Area is a strategic opportunity to accelerate economic growth and create job opportunities for the residents of Sumedang,” said the Regent of Sumedang, Dony Ahmad Munir, after signing an agreement between the regents in the Rebana area and the West Java Provincial Government, in Bandung, Thursday (26/2).

Rebana is a new industrial area in West Java. Its area is located in 7 regencies and cities, namely Cirebon City, Cirebon Regency, Sumedang, Majalengka, Subang, Indramayu and Kuningan.

Furthermore, Dony said that Sumedang Regency has an important position in the Rebana industrial area, especially in the three sub-districts that are part of the industrial development area, namely Buahdua, Ujungjaya and Tomo.

“The sub-districts in Sumedang that are part of the Rebana industrial area are Buahdua, Ujungjaya and Tomo. With the strengthening and acceleration of the development of this industrial area, it will certainly further accelerate economic growth in the area,” he said.

He explained that accelerating the development of the industrial area will have a chain effect on increasing community economic activity, creating jobs and improving the welfare of residents.

“When the industrial area is accelerated, the economy will grow and move. More jobs will be created and ultimately lead to increased community welfare,” he said.

Environmental preservation

However, Dony emphasized that industrial development in Sumedang must still prioritize the principles of sustainability and environmental preservation.

According to him, the industry developed in the Rebana area will be environmentally friendly based on the use of green energy in accordance with applicable regulations.

“Industry must advance but the environment must remain protected. Green energy is a major concern so that development runs in balance between the economy and the preservation of nature,” he said.

Dony said that the crackdown on illegal mining is an important part of protecting the environment while ensuring that mining activities benefit the community.

“Illegal mining must be cracked down on. Meanwhile, legal mining must carry out its operations in accordance with the rules, carry out reclamation and provide welfare for the surrounding community,” he said.

He also added that in the future, attention to infrastructure in the mining area, including road access and other supporting facilities, will be further strengthened.

The joint agreement, he continued, is a form of collaborative effort between local governments, provincial governments and various stakeholders to encourage investment while maintaining environmental balance.

The police force is certain to work hard to uncover the case. The steps to investigate the case are carried out transparently and professionally.
