Sumedang Deputy Regent Harassment Allegations: DPRD Holds Special Meeting

The Sumedang Regency DPRD held a special meeting to discuss the alleged sexual harassment case involving R, the personal secretary of Sumedang Deputy Regent Fajar Aldila. They also expressed respect for West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi’s decision to form an investigation team to resolve the matter.

Mamat Rohimat, Head of General Affairs at the Sumedang DPRD Secretariat, said the DPRD leadership had met to discuss the alleged abuse and sexual harassment case involving the deputy regent. They agreed with and respected the West Java Governor’s move to establish an investigation team.

“The Sumedang DPRD respects the step taken by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi in forming an investigation team to follow up on the developing issue,” he said on Monday (31/8/2026).

He said the Sumedang DPRD would await the official results from the investigation team and hoped the process would be objective and transparent, resulting in a fair and accountable decision.

In addition, the Sumedang DPRD will continue to monitor the progress of the investigation conducted by the West Java Provincial Government. However, despite being hit by a sensitive issue, the DPRD asked the Sumedang Regency Government to remain focused on carrying out its public service functions.

He said the special meeting was held to agree that the interests of the community and the continuity of the Sumedang Regional Government remain the top priority.

“The Sumedang DPRD leadership urges the public to maintain a conducive situation,” he said.

All DPRD leaders attended the special meeting, including Commission I Chairman Asep Kurnia, Commission III Chairman Endang Taufiq FR, and Regional Regulation Formation Agency Chairman Rahmat Juliadi, as well as various factions including Gerindra Party, Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), United Development Party (PPP), Golkar Party, National Mandate Party (PAN), National Awakening Party (PKB), and Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).
