Sumber Global Energy Repays Rp92 Billion in Maturing Bonds
Coal trading company PT Sumber Global Energy Tbk (SGER) has reported the full repayment of one of its maturing bonds, the Phase I 2024 Series B Bond, with a principal amount of Rp92 billion. “The principal amount of Sustainable Bonds I PT Sumber Global Energy, Tbk Phase I 2024 Series B, totalling Rp92 billion, has been repaid in accordance with the maturity date,” said SGER President Director Welly Thomas in an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. The company issued and offered the Sustainable Bonds I Phase I 2024 with a maximum principal of Rp500 billion, consisting of two series backed by a full commitment. Welly explained that approximately 25 per cent of the bond proceeds were used by the company for full debt repayment, while the remaining 75 per cent was allocated for working capital. “SGER or its subsidiary, PT Sumber Mineral Global Abadi Tbk (SMGA), plans to issue further bonds to finance working capital,” he said. The working capital will be used by the company to pursue expansion in both the coal and non-coal sectors. In the first quarter of 2026, the company recorded revenue of Rp2.5 trillion, a 1.62 per cent year-on-year increase, with Rp1.75 trillion, or 70 per cent, coming from coal sales. Other revenue streams included petroleum coke sales worth Rp441 billion, nickel sales of Rp138.74 billion, sand and limestone sales of Rp18.73 billion, and palm oil product sales of Rp1.27 billion.
