Sumatra Rising: Aceh Tamiang Residents Reopen Ramadhan Takjil Market

The takjil market at Simpang Upah in Aceh Tamiang, located in an area previously struck by flash floods, has reopened and is once again drawing crowds of local residents purchasing a variety of breaking-fast items for Ramadhan 1447 H.

Vendors at the market are offering an assortment of food and beverages for iftar, with prices ranging from Rp1,000 to Rp15,000 per portion. Among the items on sale are rujak serut drinks and other traditional Ramadhan fare.

The return of the bustling market is a sign of recovery for the disaster-affected community, as residents resume their seasonal traditions despite the earlier devastation caused by the flash floods in the region.
