Sumatra Power Outage: Hutama Karya Confirms Toll Services Remain Operational
JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has confirmed that operations across all managed toll roads remain normal despite ongoing PLN power outages in parts of Sumatra.
The company has activated backup power systems using generators to maintain transaction services, traffic management, and road user facilities.
Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) and Secretary of Hutama Karya, Hamdani, stated that the company has implemented proactive measures and rapid responses across affected areas through regular monitoring, generator activation, increased fuel stocks, and readiness of transaction-supporting equipment.
Several toll gates (GT), including Sungai Pinang and Bangkinang, are operating on generators. Meanwhile, some locations such as GT XIII Koto Kampar and the Padang–Sicincin section have had their PLN power supply restored.
Hutama Karya continues to monitor generator fuel availability at the Permai toll road section to ensure optimal service.
In North Sumatra Region, covering Binjai–Langsa (Binsa), Indrapura–Kisaran (Inkis), and Sigli–Banda Aceh (Sibanceh) toll roads, affected toll gates and Rest Areas and Service Points (TIP) are supported by generators, backup fuel stocks, and transaction equipment. Some locations have also had their PLN power restored.
For the Betung–Tempino–Jambi (Betejam) toll road, GT Pijoan and GT Muaro Sebapo are operating normally with PLN power. At GT Bayung Lencir, power remains out but is supported by generators with sufficient fuel, and traffic flow and transaction services continue normally.
Coordination with relevant parties continues to monitor PLN power supply developments and ensure backup power readiness at all service points.
