President Prabowo Subianto has commended the accelerated recovery in the three Sumatran provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, which are now gradually improving following the disaster.

He made the remarks during a break in the Eid prayers in Aceh Tamiang on Saturday (21/3/2026).

“Yes, the improvements and recovery have been very rapid,” said Prabowo after Eid prayers at Darussalam Mosque in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Saturday (21/3/2026), quoted from Kompas TV.

The Head of State also stated that nearly 100 per cent of refugees are no longer staying in tents.

Furthermore, electricity supply in Aceh has been restored to almost all areas.

“Electricity is running in almost everything, nearly 100 per cent. Only five villages out of all of Aceh, only five villages that are indeed difficult,” he explained.

Prabowo said that aid has also been distributed to the affected communities.

He appreciated the performance of all ranks of ministries and agencies that have assisted in the post-disaster recovery in Sumatra.

“They have worked extraordinarily to help the people in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, and other provinces,” said Prabowo.
