Sumatra Disaster Response Task Force Accelerates Delivery of Livelihood Guarantees for Survivors
The Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force (Satgas PRR) is continuing to accelerate the distribution of social assistance to support the lives of survivors of floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar). The aid distributed includes livelihood guarantees (jadup), housing content assistance, as well as social and economic stimulus. This programme is aimed at speeding up community recovery while maintaining survivors’ purchasing power during the post-disaster transition period. According to the Satgas PRR daily report as of 6 April 2026, the distribution of aid has reached 60,373 individuals out of a total target of 66,008 individuals. The total value of aid distributed amounts to Rp483.95 billion. Aceh recorded the highest realisation with 47,483 recipients and a total fund of Rp366.29 billion. In North Sumatra, aid has reached 11,091 individuals worth Rp101.37 billion, while in West Sumatra, 1,799 individuals received aid worth Rp16.29 billion. The jadup distribution is provided at Rp15,000 per person per day for three months. Meanwhile, housing content assistance is distributed under a scheme worth Rp3 million per family head. Economic and social stimulus aid is given at Rp5 million per family. Livelihood guarantee, housing content, and economic stimulus aid constitute one of the post-disaster aid schemes provided to ensure the continuity of survivors’ lives. This step is taken to ensure that the recovery process not only addresses physical infrastructure but also restores community purchasing power post-disaster. In addition, to complement the basic needs of disaster survivors, Satgas PRR is also disbursing Housing Waiting Fund (DTH) aid for disaster survivors who do not choose to live in temporary housing (huntara). The amount of DTH aid disbursed is Rp600,000 per month for a period of three months, so each family head receives a total fund of Rp1.8 million. To date, all DTH recipient accounts have received fund transfers with a distribution rate of 100 percent for 14,775 recipients in the three provinces. The details are 8,709 recipients in Aceh, 4,162 in Sumut, and 1,904 in Sumbar. Previously, while inspecting disaster survivors in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, the Chair of the Sumatra Post-Disaster Satgas PRR, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, stated that various aids are being distributed in parallel to disaster survivors alongside the construction of decent housing. Tito explained that while temporary housing (huntap) is not yet completed, disaster survivors will receive side dish assistance of Rp15,000 per person per day for three months. This scheme is adjusted to the huntap construction target, which takes approximately three to four months. “While huntap is not yet built, the community need not worry, because huntara is available. The side dish money fund of Rp15,000 per person per day will continue to run. If huntap is not ready in three months, it will still be provided,” said Tito in Sekumur Village, Sekerak, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Saturday (4/4).
