Suluk Worship During Ramadan in Aceh
Suluk congregants covered their heads with shawls and turbans as they performed dhikr during suluk worship at the Dayah Serambi Mekkah complex in Meulaboh, West Aceh, Aceh, on Monday (23/2/2026).
The spiritual practice of suluk, customarily observed during the month of Ramadan, drew participants from various age groups who devoted themselves to intensive dhikr, voluntary prayers, and other acts of worship aimed at cleansing the heart, purifying the soul from sin, and drawing closer to Allah SWT.
Congregants were seen near the hanging mosquito nets before joining dhikr sessions at the Dayah Serambi Mekkah complex, where the communal spiritual retreat brought together devotees committed to deepening their faith during the holy month.
