Sultan to relaunch Yogya's tourism
YOGYAKARTA: Governor Sultan Hamengku Buwono X is planning to
launch a tourism rescue program for the province, which took a
dive after the deadly Bali bombing.
"The number of foreign tourists visiting Yogya has decreased
drastically," said Budi Sulistyo, head of the tourism board on
Thursday.
The rescue program will be effective throughout next year.
Budi revealed that the governor would present his view on all
aspects of the local economy to the coordinating minister for the
economy.
He disclosed that following the horrific Bali bombing, which
killed more than 190 people, about 90 percent of visits planned
by foreign tourists had been canceled. - Antara
