Sultan sends daughter to U.S.

JAKARTA: To ease controversy resulting from his canceled visit
to the United States, Yogyakarta's Sultan Hamengku Buwono X will
send his daughter to visit the country on his behalf.

Princess Pembayun is included in the delegation to visit the
U.S. after an invitation from the U.S. government.

It was reported earlier that the sultan had canceled his
planned visit to protest the U.S. government issuing a travel
warning advising Americans against visiting Yogyakarta.

However, provincial officials said the Sultan had a busy
schedule and could not make time for the trip.

The delegation is expected to meet various groups and witness
the signing of a cooperation agreement between Yogyakarta and
Indianapolis, Indiana as sister cities.--Antara
