Sultan Elected to Lead TP Sriwijaya, Affirms Regional Development Vision
Bengkulu (ANTARA) - The Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Sultan Baktiar Najamudin, has emphasised a vision for regional development after being elected by acclamation as the General Chairperson of DPP Tenaga Pembangunan (TP) Sriwijaya for the 2026-2031 period.
“With the support and motivation to strengthen the vision of regional development, we are willing to accept the trust placed in us by the participants of the XIII TP Sriwijaya Grand Assembly voluntarily,” said Sultan Baktiar Najamudin via an electronic message received in Bengkulu on Sunday.
Sultan was appointed General Chairperson of DPP TP Sriwijaya through consensus during the XIII TP Sriwijaya Grand Assembly held in Jakarta on Saturday (28 June 2026).
The former Deputy Governor of Bengkulu noted that there are many figures in South Sumatra (Sumbagsel) who are considered more suitable to lead the organisation. However, Sultan stated he is willing to accept the mandate given by the assembly participants with the spirit of strengthening the regional development vision.
According to Sultan, TP Sriwijaya is a community organisation with a long history, having been founded by the leaders of the South Sumatra student soldier fighters in 1968. He stated that the organisation holds an important vision for the regional development agenda. Therefore, he added, all members must maintain organisational unity and solidarity to deliver a greater impact to the community.
“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, I accept the appointment as General Chairperson of DPP Tenaga Pembangunan Sriwijaya for the 2026-2031 period. Let us maintain the unity and solidarity of the organisation so that TP Sriwijaya can be more impactful and become a source of pride for the people of Sumbagsel,” he said.
Sultan also mentioned that TP Sriwijaya is one of the largest community associations in Indonesia, comprising numerous prominent national figures. He is optimistic that all the organisation’s agendas and work plans can be realised through the support, cooperation, and collaboration of the entire TP Sriwijaya family.
The XIII TP Sriwijaya Grand Assembly was attended by regional administrators from West Java, Jakarta, Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, and Bangka Bel퉁, as well as the DPP Srikandi TP Sriwijaya. The event was also attended by the General Chairperson of Srikandi TP Sriwijaya, Nyimas Aliyah; the Secretary General of the DPD RI, Police Commissioner M. Iqbal; the Chairman of the Polri Acceleration of Reform, Prof. Jimly Asshiddiqie; Erwin Singajuru; Prof. Juanda; and several other prominent figures.
