Sultan Elected to Lead TP Sriwijaya, Affirms Regional Development Vision
Sultan Baktiar Najamudin has affirmed his vision for regional development after being unanimously elected as the General Chairman of the Central Board of the Sriwijaya Development Force (TP Sriwijaya) for the 2026-2031 period. The Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) stated that he accepted the trust placed in him by the participants of the 13th TP Sriwijaya General Assembly (Mubes) voluntarily, driven by a desire to strengthen the regional development vision. Sultan was appointed through a consensus reached during the assembly held in Jakarta on Saturday (28 June 2026). The former Vice Governor of Bengkulu acknowledged that there are many other prominent figures from Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) who are equally worthy of leading the organisation. Nevertheless, he accepted the mandate with a spirit of advancing the regional development agenda. Sultan noted that TP Sriwijaya is a community organisation with a long history, founded by student army fighters from Southern Sumatra in 1968. He stressed that the organisation holds a crucial vision for the regional development agenda and called on all members to maintain unity and solidarity to ensure a greater impact on the community. “By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I accept the appointment as the General Chairman of the DPP Tenaga Pembangunan Sriwijaya for the 2026-2031 period. Let us maintain the cohesiveness and solidity of the organisation so that TP Sriwijaya can be more impactful and become a source of pride for the people of Sumbagsel,” he said. Sultan also described TP Sriwijaya as one of the largest community associations in Indonesia, comprising numerous prominent national figures. He expressed optimism that all organisational agendas and work plans could be realised through the support, cooperation, and collaboration of the entire TP Sriwijaya family. The 13th Mubes TP Sriwijaya was attended by regional administrators from West Java, Jakarta, Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, and Bangka Belitung, as well as the Central Board of Srikandi TP Sriwijaya. The event was also attended by the General Chairwoman of Srikandi TP Sriwijaya, Nyimas Aliyah, Secretary General of the DPD RI Commissioner General of Police M. Iqbal, Chairman of the Police Reform Acceleration Team Prof. Jimly Asshiddiqie, Erwin Singajuru, Prof. Juanda, and several other prominent figures.
