The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that Sukoharjo Regent Etik Suryani received total deposits of ‘collection fees’ amounting to Rp2.93 billion during the 2021-2026 period. KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu said during a press conference in Jakarta on Saturday that ETS also allegedly ordered Tri Mulyo, the Head of General Affairs at the Sukoharjo Regional Secretariat, to manage ‘Routine OPD Deposits’. The amount requested allegedly continued a ‘legacy’ from the previous regent, using the code ‘padakno karo bapak’ (meaning: match it with the father). Under ETS’s orders, TRM collected deposits from various regional apparatus organisations (OPD) annually and during the holiday bonus period. Investigators are also looking into allegations that TRM provided deposits sourced from fictitious expenditure claims and procurement mark-ups within the General Affairs section of the Sukoharjo Regency Government. During the 2024-2026 period, ETS’s total receipts from the ‘routine OPD deposits’ collected by TRM reportedly reached Rp840 million.
