The Pork Noodle and Pig Shop on the Edge of the Rice Fields in Parangjoro Village, Sukoharjo, has caused a stir after receiving rejection from residents. The manager of the pork noodle shop, Jodi Sutanto, is ready to pursue mediation efforts to find a solution. “We welcome anyone who wants to help with mediation from the local government, village, or sub-district; our principle is to welcome it. Who knows, there might be a win-win solution. If we keep it quiet like this, suddenly there will be movements, and the direction won’t be good,” said Jodi, quoted from detikJateng, Saturday (18/4/2026). It is known that the existence of this non-halal shop has received protests from some residents. In fact, a banner was installed at the end of the alley of the shop which reads “LOCAL RESIDENTS REJECT NON-HALAL SHOP”. Returning to Jodi, he hopes that in the mediation, a middle-ground agreement will be reached between the residents’ aspirations and the sustainability of the business. Until now, his side has not received an invitation for mediation. “We are a country protected by law and regulations. If we go full throttle, it’s no different from being thugs, so it doesn’t solve the problem,” he said. Jodi continued, since his business went viral due to rejection by residents, and even its access was piled with mounds of soil, there has been a surge in customers. “With what happened yesterday, I can say (visitors) have increased. Because they (visitors) are more curious, what is it like,” he explained.
