Sukadame-Kubangkondang Road Completed, Residents Urged to Maintain Village Infrastructure
Banten Governor Andra Soni conducted a direct inspection of village road development in the Sukadame-Kubangkondang stretch, Pandeglang Regency, yesterday. The road section was constructed by the Banten Provincial Government through the Build Prosperous Village Roads (Bang Andra) programme in the 2025 budget year to enhance community economic activity.
Andra Soni stated that the Sukadame-Kubangkondang road represents one of the community’s critical access routes for daily activities and serves as a transport corridor for harvested agricultural products.
“This road is located in an area that is one of Pandeglang’s rice granaries, provides access to schools and has a dense population,” Andra Soni said in a written statement on Friday (27 February 2026).
He explained that the road was constructed with concrete pavement spanning 1.4 kilometres and 4 metres wide. The construction was initiated by the Banten Provincial Government, which prioritises opening access routes to villages.
“This road came from a village head’s proposal, which we then verified, inspected and coordinated with the regent. So this road was built in 2025 under the Bang Andra programme. We hope this road is beneficial and the community becomes increasingly productive,” he said.
On this occasion, Andra Soni also urged the community to maintain and care for the completed road. Going forward, he hopes for collaboration with the Pandeglang District Government in opening road access to villages.
“Building requires funding and Banten Province is working to help Pandeglang Regency develop its village roads. We also hope the regent can allocate a budget to build village roads together with the province,” he added.
Warm Reception and Community Appreciation
Andra Soni’s visit was warmly received by the surrounding community. They expressed gratitude for the village road construction, which has facilitated village access.
“Thank you, Governor Andra Soni, the road is like a dream come true,” said one resident.
Meanwhile, Epan, a resident of Sukadame Village, expressed appreciation to the Banten Provincial Government for constructing the road in his village. He said the community benefited from improved access.
“Thank you, Governor Andra Soni, the road has been built, making it comfortable and smooth. We hope the road lasts so the community won’t struggle anymore when travelling,” he said.
At the same location, Siti, another Sukadame Village resident, also expressed gratitude that the village road had been constructed. She noted that the road was previously damaged and made it difficult for residents during rainy periods.
“Praise be to God, it’s now been built. Thank you for repairing this road; we’ve been waiting for this for a long time,” she explained.
On the same occasion, Sukadame Village Head Asep Rizal Chudori stated that his village has potential in the agricultural sector. For this reason, the road construction is very helpful for the community, particularly in transporting agricultural products.
“We have potential in the agricultural sector, and this road greatly helps the community transport harvested crops. So this is deeply appreciated,” he said.
He also committed to encouraging residents to jointly maintain the road.
“Since this is part of development work, we must care for this constructed road,” he concluded.
For information, during his visit, Andra Soni also distributed 150 food aid packages to residents in Sukadame Village from the UPZ BAZNAS Banten Province.
