Sukadame-Kubangkondang Road Completed, Andra Soni Calls on Residents to Maintain Village Infrastructure
Governor Andra Soni visited the completion of the village road development in the Sukadame-Kubangkondang section, Pandeglang Regency, which was constructed through the Bangun Jalan Desa Sejahtera (Build Prosperous Village Roads) programme (Bang Andra) on Thursday, 26 February 2026. The road section was built by the Banten Provincial Government in the 2025 financial year to boost economic activity within the community.
Andra Soni’s arrival was warmly welcomed by local residents, who expressed their gratitude for the road construction as it has improved access for village communities.
“Thank you, Governor Andra Soni, the road is as good as a dream,” said one resident upon the governor’s arrival.
Addressing the community, Andra Soni conveyed important messages, noting that the Sukadame-Kubangkondang road section serves as one access route for residents to carry out daily activities and transport harvest yields.
“This road is located in an area that is one of Pandeglang’s rice granaries, with access to schools and a dense population,” Andra Soni explained.
He further stated that the road was constructed with concrete infrastructure spanning 1.4 kilometres and 4 metres in width. The construction was initiated by the Banten Provincial Government, which focuses on improving access in rural villages.
“This road was proposed by the village chief, which we then verified and reviewed, and coordinated with the regent. So this road was built in 2025 under the Bang Andra programme. Hopefully this road will be beneficial and the community will become more productive,” he said.
During the visit, Andra Soni also urged residents to jointly maintain and care for the completed road. He expressed hope that there will be future collaboration with the Pandeglang District Government in developing road access to villages.
“Building requires funding, and Banten Province is working to assist Pandeglang Regency in developing its village roads. We also hope the regent can allocate funds to build village roads together with the province,” he added.
Meanwhile, Epan, a resident of Sukadame Village, expressed gratitude to the Banten Provincial Government for constructing the road in his village. He acknowledged that the community benefits greatly from improved access.
“Thank you, Governor Andra Soni, for building the road, it is now comfortable and smooth. We hope the road will last so that the community no longer experiences difficulties when going anywhere,” he said.
At the same location, Siti, another resident of Sukadame Village, also expressed gratitude as the road in her village has been constructed. She noted that the road was previously damaged and caused difficulties for residents during rain.
“Alhamdulillah (thanks be to God), it is now complete. Thank you for repairing this road, we have been waiting for this for a long time,” she explained.
Sukadame Village Chief Asep Rizal Chudori stated that his village has potential in the agricultural sector. With the completed road, it will greatly assist residents, particularly in transporting agricultural produce.
“We have potential in the agricultural sector, and this road will greatly help the community transport their harvests. So this is very much appreciated,” he said.
He further committed to encouraging residents to jointly maintain the road. “Because this is part of our development results, we must take care of this road that has been built,” he explained.
As information, during the visit, Andra Soni also distributed 150 packages of food aid to residents of Sukadame Village from the Banten Provincial BAZNAS Trust Fund.
