Sukabumi Transport Official Named Suspect in Harassment of Three Intern Students
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sukabumi Police has named the Secretary of the Sukabumi Regency Transport Office, identified by the initials TIP, as a suspect in an alleged case of sexual misconduct. Three students have been identified as victims in this case.
“Yes, there are three people; this will be detailed during the press release with the Deputy Chief of Sukabumi Police, Kompol Agus Susanto,” stated the Head of Criminal Investigation at Sukabumi Police, Iptu Dudi Suharyana, when asked for confirmation on Thursday (17/09/2026).
Dudi explained that the disclosure of this case began with a police report received by investigators on 13 September 2026. An intensive investigation was immediately launched, leading to the legal status of the Echelon III/a official being upgraded to suspect, and he has since been detained.
“After receiving the report, we immediately undertook a series of investigative steps, ranging from examining the reporter, the victims, and witnesses, to inspecting the crime scene and conducting case expositions. Based on the evidence collected, investigators have named one individual as a suspect,” Dudi explained.
The alleged sexual violence experienced by the three students includes both physical and non-physical actions within the departmental office environment. A number of pieces of evidence related to the case have also been secured by investigators.
To restore the mental well-being of the victims, who are still minors, the Sukabumi Police Criminal Investigation Unit is collaborating with relevant agencies to provide intensive psychological assistance.
“In addition to handling the legal process, we are coordinating with the DP3A (Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection) and the Sukabumi Regency Social Services to ensure that the three victims receive assistance and protection, including psychological assessments. The protection and recovery of the victims, particularly children, is our primary concern,” he emphasised.
