Sukabumi Regent Inaugurates Disaster-Adaptive Permanent Housing in Cisolok
Sukabumi Regent Asep Japar, together with Deputy Regent Andreas, accompanied the working visit of the Presidential Special Advisor for National Defence, Dudung Abdurachman, in inaugurating permanent housing (huntap) adaptive to disasters in Sukarame Village, Cisolok Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency, on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
The inauguration was also attended by representatives from the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of West Java Province, Forkopimda of Sukabumi Regency, Forkopimcam of Cisolok, as well as several other stakeholders. The presence of various parties represents synergy in supporting the acceleration of post-disaster recovery in the area.
On that occasion, Dudung Abdurachman expressed his concern over the floods and landslides that hit Cisolok. Although no lives were lost, the disaster caused around 10 residents’ houses to be swept away. “Alhamdulillah, there were no fatalities,” he said.
He also revealed his contribution to building new housing for the affected residents, as well as his commitment to adding 10 housing units in Kampung Mubarakah, Cikadu Village, Palabuhanratu Subdistrict. In addition, Dudung motivated the community to remain resilient and optimistic in post-disaster life. “I hope the permanent housing built can provide a sense of security and serve as the beginning of restoring the community’s quality of life,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Sukabumi Regent Asep Japar urged the community to maintain and care for the built housing facilities. He also emphasised the importance of increasing vigilance against potential disasters and preserving the environment, especially in hillside areas.
The Regent is optimistic that the local government will soon follow up on supporting infrastructure development, such as road access improvements and clean water pipanisation systems, to support the comfort and sustainability of residents’ lives in the relocation site.
Chairman of the Sukabumi Regency Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (FPRB), Encep Hadiana, also appreciated the collaboration of various parties in building the housing. According to him, the construction of 10 housing units is the result of cross-sectoral cooperation. “This assistance comes from various parties, starting from Mr Dudung, Minister Muhaimin, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives, to the local government and Forkopimda,” he concluded.
