Sukabumi Regency, West Java, has declared a landslide disaster emergency status in Bantargadung Subdistrict. The designation follows substantial disaster impacts across two villages, damaging hundreds of houses. The decree is issued under the Sukabumi Regent’s Decree Number 300.2.1/Kep 246-BPBD/2026 and is valid for seven days from 4 to 10 March 2026.

Kepala Pelaksana BPBD Kabupaten Sukabumi, Eki Radiana Rizki, said the emergency status is intended to speed emergency response and facilitate coordination among agencies on the ground. He was accompanied by Daeng Sutisna, BPBD Pusdalops Manager, on Sunday (8/3).

Landslides in Bantargadung Subdistrict occurred in Bantargadung and Bojonggaling villages, coinciding with increased rainfall since Wednesday (4/3).

Residents are urged to remain vigilant for potential aftershocks, as rainfall intensity remains high, albeit with long intervals.
