There are currently no airconditioned buses serving the
Sukabumi-Jakarta route. This is strange because, as a matter of
fact, the social mobility of commuters on this route is quite
high. Many Sukabumi residents work, study or do business in
Jakarta. If a nice, safe and comfortable means of transportation
were available, they would not have to rent a room or a house in
Jakarta. They could just commute between these two places.

At present, only economy-class buses ply between Jakarta and
Sukabumi. These buses give a poor service and cannot be relied on
to transport their passengers between Jakarta and Surabaya
quickly. If we choose other means of transportation, like the
train for example, the service is also poor.

It is clear, therefore, that airconditioned buses are needed
on this route. Another benefit of decent buses plying between
Sukabumi and Jakarta is that it would help boost tourism.
Tourists frequently complain about our public transport, saying
that buses are not comfortable, too crowded and slow-moving.
Worst of all, in the holiday season, buses are usually not
available to the public.
