Suhardiman Allegedly Collected Rp2.75 Billion from Position Trading Since 2021

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that Suhardiman Amby allegedly received two vehicles with a total value of Rp2.75 billion from a suspected bribery scheme involving the trading of official positions from 2021 until this year. Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, explained at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/7) that Suhardiman allegedly received a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar worth Rp700 million in 2021 while serving as Acting Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing). According to Taufik, the vehicle was received by Suhardiman as a bribe for the appointment of the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department of Kuansing in 2021. Meanwhile, during his tenure as Regent of Kuansing for the 2025-2030 period, Suhardiman allegedly received a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.05 billion related to the trading of the Regional Secretary position of Kuansing. Thus, Suhardiman’s total receipts during that period amounted to two vehicles with a combined value of Rp2.75 billion. ‘These two alleged bribery incidents for filling positions illustrate an escalating value of bribes,’ he said. He further revealed that the two vehicles were obtained by Suhardiman from Zulkarnain (ZKN). ‘ZKN had previously done the same thing, namely giving a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar for the position of Head of the PUPR Department of Kuansing worth Rp700 million. Then, ZKN again committed bribery for the Regional Secretary position by giving a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.55 billion,’ he explained. Previously, on 30 June 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in Kuantan Singingi and Jakarta, securing 10 individuals. The operation was the 14th OTT conducted by the KPK throughout 2026. Of the 10 people detained, five were taken to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building for intensive examination. They consisted of three private parties, a civil servant from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, and Suhardiman’s wife, Suci Nitia Edwar. The KPK then requested Suhardiman and Zulkarnain to surrender for examination. Both subsequently surrendered and were picked up by the KPK at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten. On 1 July 2026, the KPK named Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles, as suspects in the alleged bribery case involving the trading of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, Riau.
