Suhardiman Allegedly Collected Rp2.75 Billion from Position Trading Since 2021
The Corruption Eradancy Commission (KPK) has stated that Suhardiman Amby is alleged to have received two vehicles with a total value of Rp2.75 billion through suspected bribery practices related to the sale of government positions from 2021 to the present year.
Speaking at the KPK Red and White Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/7), the Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, explained that Suhardiman allegedly received one Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar worth Rp700 million in 2021 while serving as the Acting Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing).
According to Taufik, the vehicle was received as a bribe for the appointment of the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR) in Kuansing in 2021. Furthermore, during his tenure as Regent of Kuansing for the 2025-2030 period, Suhardiman allegedly received a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S valued at Rp2.05 billion in connection with the sale of the position of Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Kuansing.
Consequently, Suhardiman’s total receipts during this period consist of two vehicles with a total value of Rp2.75 billion. “These two alleged bribery incidents for position appointments demonstrate an escalation in the value of bribes,” he stated.
He further revealed that the two vehicles were obtained by Suhardiman from Zulkarnain (ZKN). “ZKN previously engaged in the same practice, providing a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar for the position of Head of PUPR Kuansing worth Rp700 million. Subsequently, ZKN committed bribery again for the Regional Secretary position by providing a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.05 billion,” he explained.
Previously, on 30 June 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in Kuantan Singingi and Jakarta, detaining 10 individuals. This operation marked the 14th sting operation conducted by the KPK throughout 2026.
Of the 10 individuals detained, five were brought to the KPK Red and White Building for intensive interrogation. They include three private sector individuals, one civil servant from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, and Suhardiman’s wife, Suci Nitia Edwar.
The KPK subsequently requested that Suhardiman and Zulkarnain surrender themselves for questioning. Both individuals surrendered and were intercepted by the KPK at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten.
On 1 July 2026, the KPK officially named Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles, as suspects in the alleged bribery case involving the sale of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, Riau.
The KPK highlighted ten common modes of corruption occurring in various regions, ranging from bribery in the procurement of goods and services to the sale of positions within the Civil Service (ASN).
In a related matter, the inactive Regent of Ponorogo, Sugiri Sancoko, has been indicted for receiving Rp900 million in bribes related to the appointment of a Regional Hospital Director, alongside gratifications totalling Rp5.57 billion.
