As described in the 100-day program announced the tourism minister, the important part of the plan to boost the inflow of foreign tourists is security, which will be maintained in coordination with all levels of the government's security agencies.

Other factors, however, are also no less important. Tourism infrastructure needs to be improved and/or built and tourist destinations should be further diversified. Potential regions are on Komodo island (to see the Komodo Dragon), and other places where tourists can see orangutans, go diving, experience all the marine beauty in Sulawesi, travel on the lakes in Sumatra and view historic relics throughout Java and Bali.

It is also essential to combine the appealing spots with local culture and performing arts so that they become interesting packages never to be forgotten by tourists. A good example is Villa Escudero outside of Manila. The Filipinos offer a package that includes history, arts, traditions, natural beauty and hospitality.

Therefore, the image of a region should come first, though targets of foreign tourists can also be set. It is also extremely useful to cooperate with domestic and international travel agents so that visitors will come from various countries, instead of focusing on one or two only.
