Suggestions for UKSW

From Media Indonesia

I am very concerned about the row occurring in the Satya
Wacana Christian University in Salatiga, Central Java. What
surprises me is how university people, who are basically
academic, rational and well versed with scientific methods and
familiar with various forums of problem solving, have difficulty
sorting out problems within their own organization. The abundant
knowledge they possess must not be intended for other parties
only but should be applied in their own university.

I know the problem is not a simple matter. But it is here the
academicians are challenged, to make complicated matter simple.
And not the other way around. The intelligent people at the Satya
Wacana university are inclined to complicate a simple matter.

I have three questions, which answered, I feel would help get
the bottleneck cleared. (1) What is the problem? (2) What caused
the problem? (3) What is the best alternative to solving the
problem?

To answer these questions you need positive thinking, peaceful
minds and the political will to sacrifice from all parties. This
is really the most difficult thing to do, as each party is trying
to defend its argument and claim it to be absolutely right.

I would just like to emphasize that history shows
inconsistency and a management which is not in line with the
vision and mission of the organization will cause it to lose its
virtues. If that is the case the organization will be no more
than a mummy with no brains, sense or intelligence.
