I once took my family to see the gorilla at Ragunan Zoo, and realized that thanks to proper management, a public recreational facility could be very useful, nice to visit and clean. As visitors are not allowed to bring anything into the area where the gorilla is kept, the area was quite clean. Besides, the gorilla is not allowed to eat anything that may harm it.

The zoo management is wise to provide a film on animal life, as this show, which is free of charge, is a very useful educational tool, particularly for children.

Unfortunately, outside the gorilla area, visitors littered freely, although designated trash cans were provided.

It is a pity that children's playing facilities are not available free of charge. Then, there is a special train to take visitors around, but it does not go through the entire zoo. Besides, there is no guide to explain to visitors anything about the animals along the way.

The zoo management should provide the zoo with more attractive facilities and services, particularly for children.
