JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police has been sued by nine retired Indonesian National Army (TNI) members at the South Jakarta District Court.

The inaugural hearing, with the agenda of presenting the lawsuit, is scheduled to take place on Monday (6/4/2026).

The Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, stated that his side has not yet received the official summons related to the hearing.

Although they have not received the summons, Budi assured that his side will prepare a legal team to face the lawsuit in the trial.

Previously, nine retired TNI generals who are members of the TNI Retirees Forum filed a citizen lawsuit against Metro Jaya Police at the South Jakarta District Court.

The lawsuit concerns the handling of the alleged fake diploma case of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

“If this is left alone, not opened, the apparatus could act arbitrarily next. We citizens could be finished by this unprofessional state apparatus,” said Soenarko in a press statement in Jakarta on Sunday (29/3/2026).
