Sudirman Traffic Engineered Until 5 May, One Lane to Semanggi Closed

Traffic flow on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in South Jakarta is experiencing adjustments due to road repair work in the wastewater pipeline network area. This information was shared via the official Instagram account of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), @dishubdkijakarta, as quoted by Kompas.com on Monday (4/5/2026). Based on the information, traffic engineering will be implemented until 5 May 2026. According to the shared infographic, the work is being carried out on the eastern side of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, specifically in front of the Sampoerna Strategic Building. During the work, there will be a reduction of one leftmost lane for the direction towards Semanggi. This condition has the potential to cause density, especially during rush hours. In addition, vehicles from Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio heading to the eastern side of Sudirman can still pass through, but road users are asked to be more careful. Traffic engineering is carried out in stages according to the work process in the field. The area is temporarily functioning as a mixed traffic lane (mix traffic), before being returned to its original state after the work is completed. The work began on 1 May 2026 at 10:00 PM WIB and is scheduled to continue until 5 May 2026 at 04:00 AM WIB. The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency urges road users to adjust their travel routes during the work period. “Road users are urged to comply with the established traffic rules and prioritise safety on the road,” the agency stated. The project directly impacts the road body, thus requiring traffic engineering to maintain smooth vehicle flow. With the adjustments made, it is hoped that traffic activities will continue to run despite the lane reduction on one of the capital’s main thoroughfares.
