Sudirman Said States Diverse Student Backgrounds Serve as a Learning Space

Universitas Harkat Negeri (UHN) Tegal, Central Java, serves as a platform for students to prepare for a better future. The diverse backgrounds of the students provide a learning space to maintain unity while fostering mutual respect.

This was stated by the former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, who currently serves as the Rector of UHN Tegal, Sudermam Said, during the New Student Campus Life Introduction (PKKMB) held at the university campus in Tegal City.

“Welcome to the Universitas Harkat Negeri Tegal campus, where we work together to prepare for a better future,” said Sudirman Said, via an official statement on Thursday (17/9).

Sudirman Said noted that the diverse backgrounds of students serve as a learning space to maintain unity and build attitudes of mutual respect. Students leaving their hometowns are learning independence through new experiences far from their families.

“Universitas Harkat Negeri will continue to provide support so that students can grow and intellectually enrich the nation,” said Sudirman Said.

Sudirman Said mentioned that this support is realised through several scholarship programmes, such as Harkat Negeri, Nusantara, KIP-K, Sadesa, and the Achievement Scholarship. The 2026 PKKMB carries the theme ‘Igniting Potential, Driving Action, and Creating Impact for Society’ as a foundation for new students.

“That theme is an invitation so that student potential does not stop at ideas, but is realised through real action. Become Arkasena Pradikta, become a light that illuminates ignorance and use innovation to answer the nation’s challenges,” urged Sudirman Said.

Sudirman Said also entrusted three main principles: integrity and wisdom, innovation and real action, and impact on society. Integrity and wisdom serve as a compass for students to maintain honesty in every learning process and daily life. “Innovation and real action encourage students to be brave in trying, thinking critically, and making the campus a space for experimentation. The knowledge and degrees you obtain in the future must culminate in service and provide a real impact on society,” he emphasised.

A total of 1,090 new students began their academic journey through the 2026 PKKMB at UHN Tegal. Carrying a spirit of change, the 2026 PKKMB at Universitas Harkat Negeri Tegal lasted for two days until Thursday (17/9/2026) at the Mataram campus.

More than just a campus introduction, the 2026 UHN PKKMB serves as a momentum to instil vision, innovation, and social concern. Of that total, 389 students come from the Vocational School, 128 from the Faculty of Psychology and Education, 218 from the Faculty of Science and Technology, and 354 from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
