Sudin Nakertransgi Admits No Vacancies for Visually Impaired at Jakarta Job Fair
The North Jakarta Office of Manpower, Transmigration and Energy (Nakertransgi) has acknowledged that there were no job vacancies available for visually impaired jobseekers at the Jakarta Job Fair 2026 held at Gelanggang Remaja Jakarta Utara, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, from Tuesday 19 May 2026 to Wednesday 20 May 2026.
Head of the Training, Placement, Productivity, and Transmigration Section (Kasie P3T) of Sudin Nakertransgi Jakarta Utara, M Yasil, revealed that they had conducted direct checks on the availability of vacancies for visually impaired candidates following questions from jobseekers with disabilities.
“Indeed, for this job fair we are hosting, I happened to be at the venue yesterday as well; we have confirmed, and for this occasion there are indeed no vacancies for the visually impaired,” he told Kompas.com on Wednesday 20 May 2026.
“So we cannot say in the future, ‘Just say there is one here’—we can’t be that reckless. If there are none, then there are none,” he added.
He explained that disabled jobseekers will be directed to the Disability Service Unit (ULD) at the provincial level of DKI Jakarta for further assistance.
According to him, the unit will help disseminate information and vacancies for people with disabilities, including the visually impaired.
The plan is that if there are such cases, they will be directed to our provincial-level ULD in the future.
Previously, several visually impaired attendees joined the Jakarta Job Fair at Gelanggang Remaja Jakarta Utara (GRJU) in Tanjung Priok, on Tuesday 19 May 2026, hoping to find vacancies for people with disabilities.
Dadang, 45, a visually impaired jobseeker from West Jakarta, travelled alone to the venue by Transjakarta.
“I was made redundant at the end of December 2025. They said there would be staff reductions,” he said.
To date, he says he has found it difficult to find open vacancies for people with disabilities, despite attending job fairs at several locations.
“In terms of job fairs, I’ve attended many. I’ve gone from city hall to city hall. But it seems there is still a shortage for people with disabilities,” he told Kompas.com on Tuesday 19 May 2026.
He added that he had previously attended job fairs in West Jakarta and South Jakarta, but the outcomes did not meet his expectations.
