Sudewo's Message from KPK Mosque to Pati Residents: Keep Progressing and Prosperous
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Suspended Pati Regent Sudewo urged Pati residents to remain progressive and continue developing. He also expressed his love for the people of Pati. “I always pray, hoping for advancement in the development of Pati Regency in all sectors. The people of Pati Regency are prosperous, with superior human resources. We remain in love with Pati Regency,” said Sudewo when met by reporters after Eid al-Fitr prayers at the KPK Mosque in the Merah Putih Building, in Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3/2026). “My condition is good. I extend Eid al-Fitr greetings to the people of Pati Regency. Please forgive my physical and spiritual shortcomings. Hopefully, we can soon pass through these trials and tribulations,” he added. Besides Sudewo, other detainees were also present, such as Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang; and suspended Central Lampung Regent Ardito Wijaya. Former Special Staff to Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Ishfah Abidal Aziz (IAA) alias Gus Alex; former Coordinator for Institutional and Personnel Affairs of K3 at the Ministry of Manpower, Irvian Bobby Mahendro; and former Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA), Nurhadi. It is known that Sudewo is currently undergoing legal proceedings. The KPK has named Sudewo as a suspect in a case of alleged extortion related to the filling of village apparatus positions in Pati Regency on Tuesday (20/1/2026). In addition to Sudewo, the KPK also named as suspects Abdul Suyono, Head of Karangrowo Village; Sumarjiono, Head of Arumanis Village; and Karjan, Head of Sukorukun Village. Previously, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said there were 67 out of 81 detainees who are Muslim. Forty-one of them are in the Merah Putih Building, while the other 40 are in the C1 Building. The KPK specifically facilitated the opportunity for Muslim detainees to perform Eid prayers. In addition, the detainees will also meet directly with their families and relatives. “Then, the KPK will open services for receiving food deliveries for the detainees, from 09.00 to 11.00 WIB,” said Budi in his statement on Friday (20/3/2026).
