Sudewo Allegedly Intervened in Tenders While Serving as Member of DPR RI's Commission V
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects inactive Pati Regent Sudewo (SDW) of having intervened in tenders while serving as a member of the DPR RI’s Commission V for the 2019-2024 period, which is a partner of the Ministry of Transportation.
For this reason, the KPK examined three witnesses on Tuesday to investigate the matter.
The witnesses are HS, a civil servant from the Surabaya Class I Railway Technical Office, MSH from PT Surya Kencana Baru, and NW, who is a commissioner of PT Mataram Inti Konstruksi as well as a commissioner of CV Cakra Semesta.
“All witnesses attended. The investigators delved into the witnesses’ knowledge regarding the alleged intervention and manipulation of tenders at the East Java Railway Technical Office (BTP Surabaya), which is suspected to have been carried out by SDW as a member of Commission V of the DPR RI in collaboration with Harno Trimadi and the commitment-making official,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Additionally, Budi stated that the KPK examined the three witnesses to further investigate the alleged provision of rewards to Sudewo through his trusted confidant.
Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) against Sudewo in Pati Regency, Central Java.
The following day, the KPK brought Sudewo along with seven others to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta to undergo the investigation process.
On 20 January 2026, the KPK named four suspects in the alleged extortion case related to the filling of village apparatus positions in Pati Regency.
They are Sudewo, Village Head of Karangrowo Abdul Suyono, Village Head of Arumanis Sumarjiono, and Village Head of Sukorukun Karjan.
Furthermore, Sudewo was also named a suspect in the alleged bribery case for the construction and maintenance projects of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
