Sudaryono Plans Major BGN Overhaul, to Launch Advanced Free Nutritious Meal System

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is preparing a data and information transparency system for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, aimed at beneficiaries and the wider public.

Head of BGN Sudaryono revealed that the agency is developing a system through which parents of pupils will be able to access information on the daily MBG menu, its nutritional content, the kitchen that prepares it, and the identity of the kitchen head.

“We hope that by next week, the whole system will be accessible to all parents of pupils. So parents can access via the system where their child goes to school, what MBG meal that school receives, what the menu is, which kitchen cooks that menu, and who the head of the SPPG is,” Sudaryono said at a press conference at the BGN office in Jakarta on Monday (27/7/2026).

Not only that, Sudaryono is also working to improve the public-facing information display so that data on MBG distribution can be easily accessed by the public. The information will include the number of kitchens, the number of kitchens per district, the number per regency, and the number of beneficiaries.

“In addition, we will improve the information display on our website or services so the public can also find out how many kitchens there are, how many kitchens in which district, how many in which regency, and how many beneficiaries there are. This is what we will improve,” he said.

Beyond transparency of information to the public, Sudaryono also said he would apply transparency and reform the ingredient procurement system to prevent hanky-panky or collusion between kitchens and suppliers.

“We are also preparing a system whereby suppliers of raw materials can be treated fairly, by system and so on, to avoid hanky-panky or collusion between providers and those in need, or between the kitchens,” he said.
