Sudaryono Plans Major BGN Overhaul, to Launch Advanced Free Nutritious Meal System

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is preparing a data and information transparency system for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, aimed at beneficiaries and the public. BGN Head Sudaryono revealed that the agency is developing a system where parents will be able to access information regarding the daily MBG menu, its nutritional content, the kitchen that prepared it, and the name of the kitchen head. “We expect that by next week, it will be accessible to all parents. So, parents can access the system to see where their child goes to school, what MBG menu the school receives, which kitchen the menu was cooked in, and who the head of the SPPG is,” Sudaryono stated during a press conference at the BGN Office in Jakarta on Monday. Furthermore, Sudaryono is working to improve the public information display so that the community can easily access data and information on MBG distribution, including the number of kitchens, kitchens per sub-district, and the number of beneficiaries. In addition to transparency in public information, Sudaryono also announced plans to implement transparency and improvements in the procurement system for ingredients to prevent hanky-panky or collusion between kitchens and suppliers.
