Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, has stressed that he will close any room for potential corruption or ‘hengki pengki’ practices within the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. ‘Hengki pengki’ refers to underhanded dealings, collusion, or misappropriation.

‘I ask for your prayers, support, and blessings, for us together with the deputy head and all ranks of BGN, and all stakeholders, SPPG, SPPI (Sarjana Penggerak Pembangunan Indonesia), partners and others. All to be trustworthy and carry out this programme as best as possible, zero tolerance for corrupt practices, hengki pengki and pickpocketing, as these are what the Indonesian people hate the most,’ said Sudaryono.

Sudaryono stated that as head of BGN, he is emphasising publicly that he has family, friends, and colleagues, including alumni and others. ‘I emphasise as head of BGN that if later, there are people offering services, perhaps with compensation, claiming to be my people, my family, my friends, colleagues and others that are deemed inappropriate, I guarantee that is not true. I request that the person concerned be reported to the authorities,’ he said.
