Sudaryono Hits the Ground Running After Being Inaugurated by Prabowo as BGN Chief

The newly appointed Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, commenced work on his first day immediately following his inauguration by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/7/2026). After being officially sworn in, Sudaryono went straight to the BGN Office to begin his duties. Upon arrival, he asserted that he did not wish to delay work and would immediately hold a meeting with his staff. “We are getting straight to work, coming directly to the office, and holding a meeting right away,” Sudaryono told reporters. President Prabowo Subianto had previously inaugurated Sudaryono as Head of the National Nutrition Agency at the State Palace in Jakarta. The inauguration was based on Presidential Decree Number 78/P of 2026 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Head of the National Nutrition Agency. Sudaryono replaces Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, who resigned from the position of BGN Head due to health reasons. With this inauguration, Sudaryono now leads the agency tasked with executing various government programmes in the nutrition sector, including the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG).
