Sudaryono Appointed as New Head of National Nutrition Agency, NasDem Urges Governance Reforms

President Prabowo Subianto will inaugurate Sudaryono as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) this afternoon, replacing Nanik S. Deyang who stepped down. Irma Suryani Chaniago, Chair of the NasDem Party and member of House of Representatives Commission IX, expressed hope that Sudaryono’s leadership will bring improvements to the agency’s governance.

‘The replacement of the BGN Head from Mrs Nanik to Mr Sudaryono is expected to accelerate the evaluation of BGN’s governance,’ Irma told reporters on Wednesday (22/7/2026). She stressed the need to expedite the completion of the Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) and ensure their development is free from conflicts of interest.

Irma added that accelerating the operationalisation of SPPG is crucial to provide certainty for the programme’s sustainability, particularly regarding the status of units that will remain operational, those that will be deactivated, and those that have received full approval and construction without any affiliation to units involved in the buying and selling of service points.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed the appointment at the Presidential Palace complex in Central Jakarta, stating that President Prabowo decided on Sudaryono, the former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, as the replacement following the former head’s resignation due to health reasons.
