Sucofindo Expands into Japan to Strengthen Global Market Access
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Sucofindo (Persero) is strengthening its role as a testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services company and enhancing global market access by expanding its services to the Japanese market.
Sucofindo’s President Director, Sandry Pasambuna, stated in Jakarta on Friday that this service expansion is being realised through collaboration with the Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA).
According to him, the cooperation covers the development of certification services and market access, collaboration on testing and inspection, as well as capacity building and strengthening of joint certification schemes.
“Sucofindo acts as an enabler for the national industry to meet international standards. Through this collaboration, we aim to open broader market access, particularly to Japan, and increase global trust in Indonesian products,” said Sandry.
He continued that this step is part of the company’s strategy to drive national industry competitiveness, expand exports, and support the harmonisation of global standards and sustainable business practices.
As a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) operating in the TIC sector, Sucofindo plays an important role in supporting government regulation implementation, ensuring industry compliance, and strengthening the national quality infrastructure, he added.
“This collaboration is also expected to facilitate trade flows between Indonesia and Japan and strengthen international recognition of Indonesian TIC services,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sucofindo’s Operations Director, Dani Pramantyo, added that the cooperation is part of the company’s transformation in integrating operational processes with global partners.
“Harmonising standards through this collaboration will improve service quality, operational efficiency, and resource readiness in facing global competition,” said Dani.
In addition to strengthening trade access, the company also demonstrates its commitment to supporting the global sustainable energy transition agenda through strengthening services for assuring palm oil biomass as part of the green energy ecosystem.
At the International Biomass Expo in Tokyo Big Sight, Japan, Sucofindo affirmed its capabilities with 68 laboratories, 29 branch offices, and 93 service points across Indonesia.
The services provided include sampling and testing, quantity verification, sustainability verification, and traceability assurance to ensure supply chain transparency.
