Sucofindo and Abpednas Launch Series of Clean Water Well Constructions for 70 Sites
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Sucofindo (Persero) and the National Association of Village Consultative Bodies (Abpednas) have officially launched a collaborative series to construct 70 clean water wells in various regions across Indonesia.
Sucofindo’s President Director, Sandry Pasambuna, stated in Jakarta on Monday that the construction of these clean water wells is part of the company’s commitment to delivering social benefits in line with sustainability principles and the implementation of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
“This programme also represents the company’s support for achieving the SDGs, particularly access to clean water and sustainable village development,” said Sandry.
The programme’s kick-off was officially held in Meunasah Gampong Lambleut, Darul Kamal Subdistrict, Aceh Besar.
This event marks the starting point for building 70 clean water wells in various regions of Indonesia, from Aceh to Merauke, and is part of the activities leading up to PT Sucofindo’s 70th anniversary on 22 October 2026.
Sandry continued that this clean water provision programme for communities is also an implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita in realising national water resilience and sovereignty to improve community welfare.
Under the programme titled “Protect Clean Water for Villages,” the construction of clean water facilities will be carried out at 70 locations in PT Sucofindo’s operational areas spanning Sumatra, Java, Bali, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua.
This initiative is projected to directly benefit around 3,500 to 7,000 rural residents, particularly in areas still facing limitations in access to clean water.
“We hope that the collaboration between PT Sucofindo (Persero) and Abpednas can strengthen the synergy between SOEs, village organisations, and stakeholders in supporting inclusive, healthy, and sustainable village development,” said Sandry.
As a Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company, PT Sucofindo also plays a role in ensuring quality, safety, sustainability, and compliance with standards in various development sectors, including supporting the provision of safe and sustainable clean water access for communities.
Meanwhile, Abpednas General Chairman Indra Utama stated that this collaboration is a tangible form of synergy in supporting the basic needs of rural communities while strengthening inclusive and sustainable development.
“Clean water is not only a basic need but also the foundation of health, productivity, and quality of life for rural communities. Through this collaboration, we want to ensure that development reaches the villages that need it,” said Indra.
“This programme also provides a real contribution to achieving the SDGs and more equitable village development,” he added.
