Successful Trial: Bogor Electric Bus to Extend to Citeureup Toll Exit

The Bogor Regency Government, West Java, is exploring the option of adding new corridors for electric bus services, extending as far as the Citeureup area. This proposal follows an evaluation of the operational trial for the Bojonggede–Sentul route, which has been running for three months.

Regent Rudy Susmanto stated that the comprehensive evaluation focuses not only on operational costs but also on expanding the service network and synchronising it with existing public transport routes. “We have requested that communication be established first with several existing transport entrepreneurs. We want the economy to keep moving, and we do not want new breakthroughs to disrupt established businesses,” Rudy said in Cibinong on Friday.

Currently, the trial corridor serves the Bojonggede–Sentul Circuit–Sentul City route. As part of the development plan, the Bogor Regency Government is studying the opening of a new path from Bojonggede towards the Citeureup Toll exit area.

To ensure smooth public transport integration, the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency (Dishub) is coordinating intensively with the West Java Provincial Transportation Agency. “The Transportation Agency has reported that they have communicated with the West Java Provincial Transportation Agency to implement several policies regarding public transportation,” said Rudy.

The development of this electric bus fleet is aimed at expanding access to eco-friendly mass transport in Bogor Regency, while simultaneously maintaining the sustainability of conventional transport through dialogue with local operators. The Bogor Regency Government is currently finalising the permanent operational scheme before officially releasing the next corridor.
