Success in Stabilising Fuel Prices Amid Global Turmoil, Prabowo-Bahlil Synergy Wins Praise
Indonesia has emerged as a positive anomaly as nearly every country grapples with economic shocks from soaring global energy prices.
The success of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration in maintaining the stability of domestic fuel (BBM) prices is regarded as a strategic achievement and tangible proof of the state’s concern for its people.
Until 1 April 2026, the government is assured to keep fuel prices stable. The price of Pertalite is maintained at Rp10,000 per litre, with no significant adjustments to other types of fuel.
This crucial step has preserved public purchasing power and supported national economic stability amid escalating geopolitical dynamics.
Deputy General Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Central Executive Board, Idrus Marham, highlighted that this accomplishment is not merely an ordinary success but an extraordinary feat now under global scrutiny. He assessed that the current national energy resilience stems from a solid division of roles between President Prabowo and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia.
“This reflects Prabowo Subianto’s capacity as a decisive decision-maker and architect of firm and visionary policies, with maturity in setting strategic directions to maintain fuel price stability. At the same time, Bahlil Lahadalia has executed his role impressively; with his proven patriotism and managerial competence, he has translated the president’s directives into effective and measured policy implementation,” said Idrus.
According to Idrus, the policy orchestration between the Palace and the Ministry of ESDM is more than just ordinary work alignment. There is firmness in direction at the leadership level and precision in field execution.
“Thus, their performance is not only ‘in sync’ in a coordinative sense but also productive in producing stability that directly impacts national interests,” emphasised Idrus Marham.
Domestic price stability is accompanied by high-level diplomatic manoeuvres. Aware of potential disruptions to global oil distribution due to uncertainties in shipping routes, President Prabowo, accompanied by ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, took proactive steps through visits to several countries, including Russia.
The strategic meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Moscow became key to deepening energy cooperation and securing crude oil supplies for Indonesia. Idrus assessed that this swift action proves the government’s sincerity in fighting for the people.
