Subsidised Housing Quota Reaches 350,000 Units, Minister Ara Issues Directive
Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait has called on property developers to accelerate the subsidised housing construction programme across the country. The programme is partly undertaken by members of the National Housing Developers and Marketers Association (ASPRUMNAS).
“As Minister, I will be fair to all associations, that is my position, and I hope there is no need for us to reprimand, remind, or sanction anyone. Please comply with the rules, please safeguard the people’s trust, and please do not disappoint consumers,” Ara said during a speech at ASPRUMNAS’s 13th anniversary and National Working Meeting at the Bidakara Auditorium, Jakarta, on Monday (20/7/2026).
He emphasised that the Government always sides with the public, particularly low-income groups. This is evidenced by the current subsidised housing quota reaching the largest figure in history, at 350,000 units.
In addition, the Government is also providing a waiver of the Land and Building Rights Acquisition Fee (BPHTB) and free Building Approval (PBG). This policy was born from cross-ministerial collaboration, including with the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
“I hear ASPRUMNAS has also been growing, I see more and more of you, and with increasing spirit. Let us make achievements,” he stated.
On the same occasion, General Chairman of the Central Executive Board of ASPRUMNAS, Muhammad Syawali, expressed appreciation for the Government’s policies that facilitate access to subsidised housing. The policies in question include the relaxation of Financial Services Authority (OJK) provisions for subsidised housing loans, free property certificates for low-income communities, and other policies capable of supporting the growth of the national housing ecosystem.
“This is indeed the result of the Minister’s hard work, and it is important to monitor. We also understand this, so we must be aware of achieving the target. We, the association, are ready, sir, to realise the targets of the President and Mr Ara,” he said.
