Subsidised Fuel Barcode Issues, Pertamina Assures Re-registration Possible

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Several users of subsidised fuel have complained about barcodes that cannot be used or have even disappeared from the system. However, Pertamina Patra Niaga has assured that consumers can still register or re-verify to resume transactions. Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth Dumatubun, stated that consumers can re-register if their subsidised fuel barcode encounters problems, or in this case, if it is lost. “Consumers can now normally perform re-verification if their barcode is not functioning or cannot be used,” said Roberth to Kompas.com (26/4/2026). This means that users who previously could not access their subsidised fuel barcode do not need to worry. They can still undergo the re-verification process to confirm their status as subsidised fuel recipients. Nevertheless, not all cases of inactive barcodes can be restored. Pertamina noted that there are certain conditions that cause such access to be blocked by the system. This indicates that Pertamina continues to implement strict supervision over the distribution of subsidised fuel. The system will detect unusual purchasing patterns as part of efforts to ensure targeted distribution. With the re-verification feature, eligible consumers still have the opportunity to regain access to their barcodes. On the other hand, the blocking mechanism also serves as a filter to prevent potential misuse of subsidised fuel.
