Subsidised fertiliser distribution reaches 4.77 million tonnes, says Coordinating Minister for Food

Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan stated that the realisation of subsidised fertiliser distribution nationally has reached 4.77 million tonnes as of 26 June 2026, representing approximately 48.5 percent of the total allocation of 9.84 million tonnes for the year. He said the government continues to strengthen synchronisation, coordination, and control of subsidised fertiliser management to ensure distribution is on target and supports increased agricultural productivity. “Fertiliser must be available before the planting season begins so that the cultivation process is not disrupted and agricultural productivity is maintained,” Zulkifli said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Friday. He noted that this step aligns with the reform of subsidised fertiliser governance through Presidential Regulation Number 113 of 2025, which aims to improve industrial efficiency, strengthen transparency, ensure supply continuity, and accelerate distribution to farmers. Of the total 2026 subsidised fertiliser allocation of 9.84 million tonnes, approximately 9.55 million tonnes are designated for the agricultural sector and 295,686 tonnes for the fisheries sector. Zulkifli also confirmed that the government is maintaining the highest retail price for subsidised fertiliser, which was reduced by around 20 percent on 22 October 2025. The current highest retail prices are set at Rp1,800 per kilogram for urea, Rp1,840 per kg for NPK Phonska, Rp2,640 per kg for NPK Kakao, Rp1,360 per kg for ZA Tebu, and Rp640 per kg for organic fertiliser. He expressed hope that synergy between the central government, regional governments, state-owned enterprises, and farmers will continue to strengthen to ensure smooth distribution of subsidised fertiliser and boost national agricultural productivity amid various global challenges.
