Subsidised fertiliser distribution in West Java reaches 55 percent amid dry season
The realisation of subsidised fertiliser distribution in West Java Province has reached 55 percent of the total 2026 allocation of 1,070,997 tonnes by the end of July, amid a shift in the planting season caused by the dry spell. “The realisation of fertiliser distribution until the end of July reached 589,991 tonnes, or 55 percent of the total allocation,” said Cindy Sistyarani, Vice President of Corporate Communications at PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero). The subsidised fertiliser distribution comprised 295,037 tonnes of urea, 292,619 tonnes of NPK Phonska, and 331 tonnes of ZA fertiliser. Meanwhile, the distribution of organic fertiliser reached 2,004 tonnes. She stated that the figures show subsidised fertiliser distribution is continuing to meet the needs of farmers in the West Java region. According to her, the dry season has caused a shift in the planting season, impacting the pattern of fertiliser demand across various areas in West Java. To anticipate these changes, PT Pupuk Indonesia is continuously monitoring redemptions through i-Pubers, a digital system created by the Ministry of Agriculture and PT Pupuk Indonesia to record, manage, and oversee the targeted distribution of subsidised fertiliser to farmers. The company is also monitoring stock positions and distribution in real-time through its Command Centre to ensure fertiliser availability matches the needs of farmers on the ground, including in West Java. Cindy added that Pupuk Indonesia is maintaining the availability of subsidised fertiliser and supervising its distribution both digitally and in the field, so that eligible farmers receive it on time, in the right quantities, and at the highest retail price. The company is maintaining fertiliser supply readiness to support farmers’ needs according to the 2026 allocation. “We will continue to monitor the progress of redemptions, stock positions, and fertiliser distribution regularly to ensure availability remains aligned with farmers’ needs,” she said.
