Subdistricts get funds

JAKARTA (JP): The City Administration has set an annual fund of about Rp 19.87 billion (US$9.03 million) to finance the administration of all the city's subdistricts starting this year, Governor Suryadi Soedirdja said.

Out of the fund, which comes from the city budget, each subdistrict will get about Rp 75 million per year, he said.

Jakarta has 265 subdistricts, of which 44 are in Central Jakarta, 35 in North Jakarta, 56 in West Jakarta, 65 in South Jakarta and 65 in East Jakarta.

The fund is expected to improve services at the subdistrict level, the governor said. (31)
