Suahasil: Prabowo instructs maintenance of State Budget health and credibility

The Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, stated that she has received specific instructions from President Prabowo Subianto to maintain the health and credibility of state finances, particularly the State Budget (APBN), following her inauguration at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday.

“The President’s specific instruction is to safeguard state finances. This means maintaining its health and ensuring the credibility of those state finances,” said Suahasil.

According to her, the APBN, as a component of state finances, must remain healthy to be capable of financing and executing various government priority programmes.

“The APBN, as part of state finances, must be able to implement the government’s priority programmes; therefore, the budget must be healthy. In addition to being healthy, it must also be credible. The APBN must be trustworthy,” she added.

Suahasil expressed that she will continue the efforts previously undertaken by the Ministry of Finance in safeguarding state finances. She noted that the ministry has worked hard to ensure the APBN can support growth while simultaneously maintaining economic stability.

On this occasion, Suahasil also expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her by President Prabowo and the nation to carry out her duties as Finance Minister. She remarked that the appointment is a form of trust that must be fulfilled as a mandate.

“This is a form of trust from the President and from the Republic of Indonesia to me. I express my gratitude for this trust and hope to successfully carry out the mandate given by the President,” said Suahasil.
