Suahasil ensures State Budget deficit will be maintained below 3 per cent

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has ensured that the State Budget (APBN) deficit will be maintained below 3 per cent to support the stability of the Indonesian economy.

“The deficit will remain below 3 per cent,” Suahasil stated when met by members of the media following her inauguration at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday.

She emphasised the importance of maintaining the health and credibility of state financial management as the primary means to support various government priority programmes in a measurable manner.

According to her, a trustworthy State Budget serves as a vital instrument in driving growth while simultaneously stabilising the national economy.

Suahability conveyed that Presidential instructions mandate the Ministry of Finance to continue maintaining accountability and efficiency in the use of state expenditure allocations.

She asserted that expenditure efficiency is directed so that the existing budget can produce the maximum impact for the entire population.

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Suahasil as Finance Minister to replace Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at the State Palace.

Suahasil was appointed as the new Finance Minister as stipulated in Presidential Decree Number 97P of 2026 regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet for the remainder of the 2024-2029 term, which was established on 14 September 2026 by President Prabowo.
