Suahasil Clarifies Division of Duties for Three Deputy Finance Ministers
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Suahantly Nazara has spoken out regarding the division of duties among the three Deputy Finance Ministers.
As is now known, Suahasil is accompanied by three Deputy Finance Ministers after President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Luky Alfirman and Nurkholis Ibnu Aman today, Thursday (1/10/2026). Alongside Luky and Nurkholis, the Deputy Finance Minister who had been serving previously is Juda Agung.
Suahasil initially emphasised that the position of the three Deputy Finance Ministers has returned to its original formation, similar to the early era of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration starting in October 2024.
“The Deputy Finance Ministers have now returned to a formation of three Deputy Finance Ministers,” said Suahasil while welcoming Luky and Nurkholis at the Ministry of Finance Headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday (1/10/2026).
At the beginning of Prabowo’s presidency, the Finance Minister position was held by Sri Mulyani Indrawati, accompanied by three Deputy Finance Ministers: Suahasil Nazara, Anggito Abimanyu, and Thomas Djiwandono.
Later, during Purbaya’s tenure as Finance Minister for the 2025-2026 period, only two Deputy Finance Ministers remained, namely Suahasil Nazara and Juda Agung, after Anggito became the Chairman of the LPS and Thomas Djiwandono became the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, swapping positions with Juda Agung.
Subsequently, when Suahasil was inaugurated by Prabowo as Finance Minister, the Deputy Finance Minister position was reduced to just one, Juda Agung, before Luky and Nurkholis were inaugurated today.
Regarding the division of duties among the Deputy Finance Ministers, Suahasil stated that she will first undergo a consolidation process, even though the Head of State did not provide specific instructions regarding the division of tasks for the three deputies.
“What I certainly want to convey is that, through the appointments made by the President, each has been appointed as a Deputy Finance Minister. Deputy Finance Minister, Deputy Finance Minister,” Suahasil asserted.
Nevertheless, Suahasil ensured that after the consolidation process is completed, there will be specific duties assigned to each as joint persons in charge of fiscal management.
“So, with myself as the Finance Minister, we will certainly sit together and look at the overall work of the Ministry of Finance, which is so comprehensive, and then we will complement one another; we will formulate that process of mutual support,” she explained.
