Moscow (ANTARA) - Approximately 7,000 foreign mercenaries from 70 countries, mostly from Colombia and Poland, have been found fighting on the side of Ukraine against Russia, according to the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“About 7,000 foreign mercenaries are fighting against Russian troops. They originate from more than 70 countries, primarily from European and Latin American nations that maintain hardline anti-Russian policies,” said Nikolai Plotnikov, head of the Centre for Scientific and Analytical Information at the Institute for Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, to RIA Novosti.
