Study on Foreign PSEs' Obligation to Have an Office in Indonesia Targeted for Completion by 2026
IQPlus, 22 May — Alexander Sabar, Director General of Digital Space Oversight at the Ministry of Communications and Digital (Kemkomdigi), said the study into the obligation for foreign electronic system providers (PSE) to have a representative office in Indonesia is targeted to be completed in 2026. “Hopefully it can be completed this year as soon as possible,” said Alex in a brief interview in Jakarta on Friday. Alex said the study is being conducted to determine how this obligation for foreign PSEs to have offices in Indonesia will be regulated, whether in the form of a government regulation, ministerial regulation, or other forms. But it is clear that any foreign PSE with a large Indonesian audience will be required to have an office in Indonesia. “We are pushing them to have a representative office,” said Alex.
