Students with Disabilities in Bima Provided Only Corn and Peanuts for Free Nutritious Meals, Nutrition Service Unit Acknowledges Negligence
A video showing the distribution of a free nutritious meal (MBG) programme consisting of a single piece of corn and peanuts to students with disabilities at Baiturrahman Sondosia Special Needs School (SLB), Bolo District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), went viral on social media. The Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) Lala Shabyra Sondosia acknowledged that errors and negligence had occurred in the delivery of this service.
The MBG menu video was first uploaded by Facebook user Ayu Aryani Yakub, who is a teacher at Baiturrahman Sondosia SLB. The post subsequently sparked widespread discussion among social media users.
In the video, two teachers were seen reviewing the MBG menu provided by SPPG Lala Shabyra Sondosia. The menu items displayed included three dates, a piece of corn, five peanuts, five soybeans, cassava compote, and a boiled egg that appeared dirty.
“This is the MBG menu from SPPG Lala Shabyra Sondosia. Hopefully, in the future it will be more prosperous and better, more trustworthy, so students are enthusiastic about eating and drinking,” one teacher joked in the video.
In response to the video, the Head of SPPG Lala Shabyra Sondosia, M Mukhlis Fadhilah, offered an apology to all school personnel in charge (PIC) and MBG beneficiaries served by his unit.
“We offer our sincerest apologies for the errors and negligence in providing this service,” he stated.
Mukhlis also expressed appreciation to school personnel and beneficiaries who continued to provide criticism and suggestions regarding the SPPG Lala Shabyra Sondosia service.
“This serves as material for us to conduct evaluations and implement continuous service improvements,” he said.
He confirmed that all MBG menus provided on Thursday (12 March 2026) would be withdrawn. These meals would not be charged to the National Nutrition Body either.
“We regard this as motivation to share with beneficiaries. The menu we withdrew today will be sent tomorrow, Friday, with a two-day accumulated system,” he concluded.
