Students want headmaster back

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: At least 500 students of the
state SMAN I senior high school protested on Wednesday against
the decision of the local education office to transfer their
headmaster to other school.

Representatives of the students told the office's
administration coordinator R.S Saenong that they felt it hard to
let their headmaster Muh. Idrus move because he had done a lot to
improve the quality of the school, according to Antara.

"We will feel a deep loss if he is transferred. If it is
possible, please annul the decision to move him, or at least
suspend it until the end of the 1994/1995 education term," said
spokesman for the students, Achmad Ridwan. (par)
