Students Urge East Lombok Prosecutor's Office to Fully Investigate MBG Point Trading Case
Dozens of students staged a protest outside the East Lombok District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) today. The crowd, from the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII), urged the prosecutor’s office to fully investigate the case of trading points for the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG).
PMII East Lombok Branch Chairman Yogi Setiawan alleged there was a practice of buying and selling dozens of SPPG location points in East Lombok. According to him, PMII is currently gathering evidence before reporting the suspected case of trading kitchen points for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) project.
“There are around dozens of points in East Lombok. We will conduct further studies and investigations so that it becomes valid data,” Yogi said when met on the sidelines of the action in front of the East Lombok Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
Yogi stated that President Prabowo Subianto and the Attorney General’s Office have emphasised they will eradicate corruption, including indications of corruption in the MBG programme.
“This has become President Prabowo’s attention and priority for eradicating corruption, including in this MBG. The Attorney General’s Office has also paid attention to this case of trading points,” Yogi said.
“In the near future, we will institutionally submit a report to the Prosecutor’s Office,” he added.
Head of the East Lombok Prosecutor’s Office, I Gusti Ayu Agung Fitria Chandrawati, invited the protesters to submit a report regarding the alleged trading of SPPG points in East Lombok. She said that to date, the East Lombok Prosecutor’s Office has not received any report related to the MBG kitchen case.
“If there are findings, please submit your report to us. We will follow up, please send us a letter,” Fitria asserted when meeting the protesters.
According to detikBali’s observation, the PMII protesters then moved from the prosecutor’s office to the regent’s office, the East Lombok Police Station, and the East Lombok Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) office. Besides highlighting the SPPG case, the protesters also demanded the revocation of the TNI Law and the National Police Law, the restoration of civilian supremacy, and improved welfare for teachers and healthcare workers.
Not only that, they also called for the dissolution of the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP) project. They also urged the government to reshuffle and streamline the cabinet structure according to competence and authority.
In addition to national issues, the protesters also highlighted several regional issues. One of them was the activity of class C mining, which they claimed has been committing environmental crimes.
